Our Staff

Steve hails from the Buffalo, NY area (Go Bills!) but grew up the majority of his life here in sunny Tampa. He married his wife, Michelle, in 1993 and shortly after decided to leave the banking industry to pursue full-time vocational ministry. Since then, Steve has been fortunate to have the opportunity to serve congregations from coast to coast. He enjoys traveling, reading, and all things sports related. Steve and Michelle have nine children and are passionate about foster care and adoption.

One of Steve’s favorite things in life is doing good ministry with people he loves. His personal ambition is to be a faithful child of God, to be the best husband and father he can be, to help countless people meet Jesus, to faithfully love and serve his church family, and to help lead one of the most dedicated congregations in Central Florida.

Derrick is the Worship & Production Lead at New Beginnings Christian Church here in South Tampa. He and his wife, Sierra, have three kids and two dogs that always make for a good time. As an elder millennial, the three things that have impacted him the most are as follows: 1) Jesus Christ, 2) Video Games, and 3) 90’s Hip Hop. For fun he enjoys learning to cook new things, primarily, so that he can eat them, and secondarily, to share those things with his family and friends. His heart for the church is for them to live lives fully in response to WHO GOD IS in everything that they do, and that it doesn’t start and end with merely singing together on Sundays, but that it serves as a springboard to launch them into their weeks completely on fire for the Lord.

Samuel serves as the Student and Connections Pastor at New Beginnings Christian Church in South Tampa. As one of eleven siblings, he comes from a big, close-knit family. He’s passionate about Jesus and enjoys movies and video games. His heart for ministry was sparked back in high school and has only grown since, leading him to invest deeply in every ministry opportunity that comes his way. Samuel’s life mission is to share the love of Christ with everyone he encounters, to lead with compassion and service, and to help his community understand how deeply Jesus longs for a relationship with them.

Sara has worked at New Beginnings since its amalgamation of Westshore and Palma Ceia Christian Churches in 2005. She has always had a love for her church family and works to keep it rolling along. She is involved in our Music program and is one of the coordinators for the PrimeTimers group, our Senior Singles, as well as juggling other responsibilities. When not at New Beginnings she loves to travel, read, do handicrafts and is the mother of three four-legged fur babies.
