NBCC Happenings (When, What, & Where)
IMPORTANT COVID-19 INFORMATION (list below updated August 13, 2020, 9 p.m.):
Elders Directive – August 13, 2020
The NBCC Elders and Steve have continued to meet telephonically weekly during the last several months. Each conversation focuses on one thing – the health and safety of the New Beginnings body of believers. Tonight, we spoke at length again and thoroughly shared and analyzed the vast information we have attained. We prayerfully came to the following action step.
Due to a few current Covid-19 infections and possible exposures within the church family, the Elders and Steve have unanimously agreed to close the 10:30 inside service the next two Sundays – 16th & 23rd. This gathering will resume on Sunday, August 30th.
The 8:30 weekly drive-in service will resume as usual and will be captured for online viewing later in the day. All inside worshipers are encouraged to attend the drive-in service for just a few weeks.
Our humble and calculated hope is that reducing our services for just two Sundays will help us all not only better comply with current CDC standards and guidelines, but to optimize our collective ability to reset and heal as a congregation.
We continue to thank you for your ongoing support and your willingness to work with us as we navigate this unique season together!
May the Good Lord Bless You!
Brent Diehl – Chairman of the Elders
A Time of Prayer and Fasting
When: September 18 – 28
What: Prayer and Fasting
In our time of prayer and fasting at NBCC, we are suggesting the following daily focuses:
09/18 Adoration & Thankfulness to God (Psalm 105:1, Psalm 136:1)
09/19 Repentance, Confession of Sins (personal cleansing) (Acts 20:21, 1 John 1:9)
09/20 President & National Leaders (Romans 13:1-7)
09/21 Governor & State Leaders (Romans 13:1-7)
09/22 Mayor & Local Civic Leaders (Romans 13:1-7)
09/23 The Church Universal – Influence & Mission in the World (Matthew 28:19-20)
09/24 New Beginnings Christian Church – Leaders, Families, Influence & Impact (Matthew 6:9-13)
09/25 Covid-19 – Eradication, safety of front-line workers, comfort for those negatively affected (Matthew 7:7-8)
09/26 National Return to God and His Word (Revelations 2:4-5)
09/27 Revival in America and God’s Favor on the Next Generation (2 Chronicles 7:14)
09/28 Personal Worship (accompanied by Fasting) (Psalm 139:14)
You may ask why these dates were picked. They are significant for being Jewish High Holy Days. The first of the Jewish High Holy Days is Rosh Hashanah, it is their Jewish New Year. On that day there is prayer in the synagogue, personal reflection and the hearing of the shofar (ram’s horn) which signifies a rallying call to gather. This year it begins on September 18.
Rosh Hashanah culminates 10 days later into Yom Kippur, the holiest day in Judaism. Its themes are atonement and repentance; acknowledging personal and national sins. It is always accompanied with 25 hours of fasting. This year it happens on September 28.
